Stefan Engel
Born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, Stefan Engel spent his formative years in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and his highschool years in Porto, Portugal. He graduated with a Master's degree in Economics (Lic. Oec. Publ.) from University of Zurich, Switzerland.
Stefan started his professional career as a sales manager responsible for South and Central America with the Swiss-based company GF-Disa and later served for ten years as Chief Officer of Operations at Sia Abrasives in Switzerland, Great Britain and the USA. In 2010, he joined American Truetzschler, Inc., first in the capacity of the company's Vice President and since 2017 as Chief Executive Officer. American Truetzschler Inc. is a US subsidiary of Trützschler GmbH & Co.Kg Textilmaschinenfabrik headquartered in Moenchengladbach, Germany. The company's core business is the manufacturing of machines and installations for the spinning preparation in the non-woven and man-made fiber sector. Truetzschler operates in six countries and employs approx.3,000 people.
Stefan is a member of the German American Chamber of Commerce, the Southern Textile Association (STA) and the National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO). He is also a longtime director of the board at the German Language and Culture Foundation. His hobbies and personal interests include sport shooting, travelling, documentary movies, politics and foreign cultures.
Stefan is fluent in German, English, Portugese and Spanish.
