TEASE IV–Transatlantic Exhibition of Art in the Southeast

Established in 2014, TEASE – Transatlantic Exhibition of Art in the Southeast is a biennial art exhibition in the Southeastern United States.

The N.C. Zeitgeist Foundation invites artists from Germany and the Carolinas to jointly exhibit their works of art at different venues. In order to address a large and diverse audience, three particular locations have been selected. Each venue will also feature a local artist to help raise awareness within the local community.

TEASE 2022 will revolve around the theme “Heimat” or “Home/Homeland.” Artists from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany) and from Mecklenburg County, North Carolina (United States) will create and present “sense-of-place” themed works of art reflecting a transatlantic exchange of ideas about the meaning of home/homeland.
The weeklong tour will include exhibitions at the following venues:
  • Charlotte, NC
  • Charleston, SC
Ancillary events will be organized at each locality. Meetings with university students, campus tours, art gallery visits, and time for joint creative work will facilitate a profound cultural exchange, as well as development of deep and permanent friendships between the German and American artists.
