The Artists

Picture
Five contemporary German-speaking artists, six days of travel throughout the Southeast and four pop-up art exhibits – we will tease your contemporary art taste buds during this transatlantic art road show in September 2014.  Make sure you don’t miss this exciting tour and the chance to engage in art discussions with the artists, get an introduction to contemporary German and Austrian art, and network with like-minded art-lovers at one of our receptions.

Earlier this year, Klaus Becker, Honorary Consul of Germany in Charlotte, NC (www.klausbecker-clt.com),invited five
established and promising artists from Germany and Austria to exhibit their works in this part of the states. Thus,
making their paintings and sculptures available and publicly accessible to a culturally interested audience in the Southeast United States.

Bodo Berheide, (Wuppertal, Germany) Bodo is best known for the eighteen year world tour of his six ton sculpture Figura Magica, studied under Joseph Beuys at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and is now producing paintings and sculptures and showing his work in various exhibitions.   www.bberheide.de

Christl Foetsch, (Vienna, Austria) Christl has been devoted to painting for almost thirty years, attending several workshops and participating in numerous exhibitions throughout Austria.   www.foetschchristine.at

Uschi Kirchhoff, (Munich, Germany). Uschi’s art is inspired by the multitude of colorful, happy and fascinating impressions she encountered during her worldwide travel.   www.uschi-kirchhoff.de

Dr. Birgit Wewers, (Witten, Germany).Birgit, a graduated mechanical engineer, now focuses on her passion for art, creating complex paintings that deal with many themes, including ephemerality and transformation. She teaches art and painting classes.   www.birgitawewers.de

Jonas Heinevetter, (Witten, Germany) In his gallery "Himmelstropfen" (Pennies from Heaven), he exhibits his paintings and design, and teaches various workshops. Jonas creates art that is not only expressive but extremely diverse. The visual elements of his work, including form, color, and movement, help him express his inner self.   www.ausdrucksvielfalt.com
